Faint line after 30 mins then negatives

Hi all,

Tested my son this morning and I'm guilty of only usually having a quick look and not studying properly so assumed he was clear. Came downstairs and did a double take of the test on the side and saw a really faint line as per pic. Hard to see with naked eye but I've inverted and whatnot so you can see better. This was after the 30 mins but I can't be sure it wasn't there before the 30 mins and I just didn't look hard enough. Did another test which was negative. Rang PCR line and because i couldn't say definitely the line appeared within the 30 mins they have said my son doesn't need one if the second one was negative. Will test again tomorrow but has anyone else had inconsistent LFT results?

We had the same, noticed the faint line when I went to throw it away. Second LFT was negative. Had a PCR to be safe and that came back negative too.

I don’t bother with LFTs for my DS as they aren’t accurate for young kids. Just book a PCR

The result isn’t valid after 30 mins. You did the second one properly and it was negative. The advice line people are right!

Appreciate that but I can't say for absolute certain that the line wasn't there before 30 minutes was up as I didn't look properly within the timeframe. In any case I also think it looks wonky like a previous poster said so I will test again this morning Smile
