Is it true that you don’t need to LFT 90 days after having it?

I’d thought this was true, but googling… can I find evidence on the nhs website? Can I heck! Trying to find a link.

I believe that if you book a covid test, it asks you when booking if you have tested positive before. I guess if you select yes then it would ask when.

I apologise because I just read you put lft. It's said that within 90 days of covid a test can pick up old traces of the virus and be positive Both with pcr and lft but more likely with pcr.

No, I don’t think so - you’d still need an LFT for anything that required one, unless you had a Covid certificate and that was also acceptable to whatever you were trying to do.

It’s the case that you might return false positives for 90 days after you have Covid, but it doesn’t stop you having to take the tests where they’re needed (unless there’s an exemption as above)

I was told this by Track and Trace, but I thought it had been changed due to Omnicron.

It's not advised within 90 days see here. If you develop new symptoms you do take a PCR.

bumpyknuckles · 08/12/2021 18:56

You don't need to do an lft for 90 days after a positive covid test, no. But you do have to show the email/text from t&t to say when you had it.

You will have to explain this repeatedly to people who don't understand, including medical staff 🙄

I tested negative on an LFT 9 days after my positive PCR (and 9 days worth of positive LFTs). I have to take one to travel next week, so hopefully it's still that way. Will check in a bit.

More concerned that my 2 day return PCR will be positive. I'll ignore isolation on the basis of having had covid recently.

If you develop new covid symptoms you are definitely supposed to pcr even within 90 days. One of my kids had covid in September and I was able to book a pcr when they had a new cough a few weeks later (was negative) I don't think you're advised to do routine ltfs but you are supposed to test for new symptoms . My kids were negative on lateral flows after a few weeks of positive pcrs
