I’ll try to keep it concise! DS13 had covid 8 weeks ago. Nobody else in the house got it. His brother and sister tested positive on lft’s Monday evening and we’re waiting for confirmation. Both have symptoms though. I’ve just had to pick him up from high school because he’s been complaining of a headache all day. Since having covid he has had a lot of headaches that are mild and don’t last long but he says this one is really painful. The advice is not to test again unless they have new symptoms and a headache isn’t classed as one of the main symptoms but it was his first symptom when he had covid in October. I’m not sure if I should test him or not, would you?

I think I’d do an LFT and see what result you get.

You can lft but not pcr without symptoms

He has got symptoms just not one of the UK’s “official” ones - so I’d probably test, yes. Omicron increases the (still small) likelihood that he’s reinfected.

Thank you all. He’s done a test and it’s negative so I’ll keep an eye on him.

If he continues with a headache and high temperature go to A&E and ask to be tested for PIMS-TS. There isn't enough information out there and too many kids in ITU.

The omicron variant, one of the symptom's is painful headache. My partner is testing negative on LFT but have came back positive with a PCR. I would get a PCR.
