Whole household isolating.

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone else with their whole household isolating who wants to moan with me? DS1 positive the middle of last week. Then DS2, DH and I have all gone down with it since. DH is working from home full time and is live teaching (FE) so can't really be disturbed during the day. I'm a teacher so not officially working but having to sort cover/answer emails relating to my pupils etc. Then my two children are home learning so I'm supervising that as well as dealing with all the admin that comes with isolating such as keeping touch with school, test and trace, cancelling commitments etc. And then there's also Christmas to get ready for. It all feels a bit overwhelming and my self-care seems to have gone completely out of the window. The final straw is that the food shop that I'd spent ages organising online has just been cancelled a couple of hours before it is due. I was so looking forward to having some more exciting food in the house. We've already been making do for over a week! Argh! I know I should be grateful that I'm feeling well enough to worry about it all but I'm so tired from having to keep everything going. Sending love to all those who are isolating with children - It's tough!

OP, really sorry you're finding it tough. I'm not going through what you are, but just wanted to say if you're getting low on food, you can usually get a delivery from Iceland - there might not be the variety, but chances are you'll get a delivery from them quicker than anywhere else (a day or so).

I'd sack off the home learning tbh. And I am an ex teacher.

Thanks ifonly. That might be a good shout. I've rebooked a new delivery for Friday but I might see if we can get a few bits from somewhere for tomorrow to tide us over.

Thanks regular. I'd be tempted but I work at their school and know how hard their teachers have worked to get work online (I spent most of Sunday setting work for my own isolating pupils) so it feels a bit wrong not to do it. And they are not remotely poorly!
