Extremely light period/spotting after booster

I had AZ for my first two vaccines, with no impact on my period. I had the booster 2 weeks ago and just had a headache for one day.

Now I've got what I thought was my period but its really, really light, more like spotting, and has been going on since Saturday. I have health anxiety so have already panicked about things like cervical cancer (I'm up to date with smears and never had HPV) or womb cancer.

Then I remembered that some people had changes to their periods after the vaccines so am wondering if it could be this? But most of the stuff I've read is people having heavy periods rather than really light ones.

I'm also 43 so could be peri. So am trying to be rational as there are lots of non-scary reasons for it. But unfortunately health anxiety isn't always very rational!

It can affect your inflammatory response I think. This happened to me and a dose of ibroprofen stopped the spotting - give it a go. It’s anti-inflammatory.

I had the same- it affected things for a few months. Much shorter cycles too. Pretty much back to normal now, in time for my booster on Saturday!!

Thank you that's reassuring. I'll try some ibuprofen tomorrow. With health anxiety you think anything out of the ordinary is going to kill you!

I missed a period after my first jab

It's weird as I'm getting fairly bad period pain but such a light period.

I am having the exact same after my booster. After the first jab my cycle was 43 days (usually 30)
Second jab all normal, and this month I’ve noticed spotting every morning for the last 3 days when my period isn’t due for another week. I was also so worried at first but as soon as I remembered my booster was this month I instantly realised it’s likely that. (Of course if it continues il push for more tests) but like you guys, I can’t believe they still aren’t fully acknowledging that this is a side effect!

I’ve had random mid cycle very light spotting twice now since having the booster. Never had that before in my life so thinking there might be a link

I had a light period starting 2 days after my booster! About three weeks too early...

I had an ablation done five years ago and had moderna two weeks ago! I started bleeding for the first time in five years a week ago! Strange!

I had a booster 29th December (Pfizer) and I'm 41. I started spotting and light bleeding on Wednesday, which was day 24 of my usually 26-28 day cycle. It's been four days of this odd light bleeding. Could it be from the vaccine or is this normal at my age? I had treatment for CIN3 back in September but it didn't affect my cycles...
