Covid: how to stop the sneezing??

I'm on day 3ish of having covid and I just can't stop sneezing. It's making my throat hurt, I'm pulling muscles and I have serious pelvic floor issues. Has anyone found a remedy? A trick? There must be something...

Pinching the nose can sometimes work. Steam might help.
I find getting down on all fours reduces the pressure on the pelvic floor of coughing or sneezing.

Oh my gosh, I had this for about a 24 HR period when I had covid a few weeks back. It drove me crazy, only lasted the day. I hope the same can be said for you.

Me too, it was awful. 15/20 sneezes in a row. Over and over! I was bright red in the face and my heart was racing after each episode. It was horrendous!

On second thoughts, perhaps lying down would be better than all fours to reduce strain on the pelvic floor.

Thanks everyone. Weirdly after having been driven mad by the sneezing yesterday, it's stopped today. Now I'm struggling with the fever and pain, but at least I'm not sneezing!

At least this thread might bring comfort to anyone else going crazy with the sneezing that it seems to be relatively short lived!

Dp has been the same - so much for covid not being like a cold in the early days 😅

Anyway, he's been drinking lemsip which seems to help. He can't taste it but it's doing something. He's also using menthol strepsils - again can't taste but doing something.

That and keeping tissues nearby!

I was sneezing a lot but now on day 9 I am not at all so it does pass. I made a tea with the juice of a lemon and some fresh ginger in it and then added honey which really soothed my throat and I put loads of ginger in so I could actually taste it as well.

Not Covid-related (been there, done that), but teen DD who is prone to sneezing fits conceded that Camomile tea (sweetened with honey) did help a bit last time she had a cold.

Hope you feel better soon
