If the whole household got it, how long did it take?

From the first person testing positive? Impossible to social distance in my house. Both children have sen so don't understand, house is small!

What kind of isolation period should I expect if we all get it! 🤦‍♀️

Took 5 days from me getting it to my youngest and then 2 days later my other son got it. So a week.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/12/2021 19:39

Just DS and I in the house. I caught it first, DS tested positive 6 days later. 16 days isolation in total as I'm single and he's too young to stay home alone!

HelloMist · 05/12/2021 19:40

In our case, both adults had positive PCR 2 days after child, however only one of us felt ill that night and the other not until next day or the one after. Hopefully there's a good chance you won't all get it though!

Wonderfulchristmastime31 · 05/12/2021 19:41

Thank you. Dp has tested positive on a lft but likely pcr will be too. He's double jabbed, so am I. Was due booster today too. Kids are primary age so no jabs. Hoping they won't get it 😢

If it makes you feel any better my DS got it in July and didn't pass it to any of us despite still cuddling me and his little brother and playing together all day.

His symptoms were the grand total of about 3 sneezes, went to bed early one day, and about 2 or 3 very mild coughing fits

Wonderfulchristmastime31 · 05/12/2021 19:53

@whataballbag it's a bizarre virus isn't it. I am glad your son got away with it lightly and the rest of you didn't catch it! It makes you wonder how many cases are going undetected though because symptoms are really minor!

I have a cough too and have done a pcr but I think I've caught it off Dd and not even covid. Can't be sure obviously but she's had a bad cough, so has half her friends and all pcr negative! But time will tell!

Dp has caught it from work for sure. He was very close contact with someone who tested positive the very next day - his partner had it too. Quite a few of his colleagues have it as well! So he was kind of expecting this.

I feel so sad about potential isolation for all of us at this time of year! 😢

Ds got it 8 days after I tested positive, though there were also a few cases in his class. We're both out of isolation completely now, DH fully avoided it but had 3 jabs.

Santahatesbraisedcabbage · 05/12/2021 20:07

7 of us here. 1 of 2 adults tested +. 3 of 5 dc tested +that same day too. Others never tested positive at all. Still shared a bed with dh and he didn't catch it.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 05/12/2021 20:10

We are 2 adults and 2kids. I caught it (beginning of pandemic) didn't realise passed onto husband kids were fine. My dd tested positive 5 days ago and the rest of us are negative so far

lorisparkle · 05/12/2021 20:27

My DH tested positive on LFT on Monday then PCR positive. Ds2 tested positive on LFT on Wednesday, DS3 tested positive on LFT on Thursday and DS1 tested positive on LFT on Friday. I tested positive on LFT on Saturday. All our PCRs came back positive on Saturday.

cloverleafy · 05/12/2021 20:32

5 of us. If 1st positive PCR was day 1, 2nd was day 3, 3rd & 4th day 5, 5th on day 6.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 05/12/2021 20:34

My DS got it first, about a month ago. Me and DP both had PCRs, mine was negative, his was positive so he was a couple of days behind DS. I did LFTs for about a week and they kept coming back negative but then I did one the day after DP's isolation ended (two weeks after DS's positive result) and got a positive, with a positive PCR two days after that.
So one or other of us was isolating for over 20 days. Luckily (and thanks to vaccines) we all has fairly mild cases so the boredom of isolation was the worst bit!
We couldn't isolate from each other having only one bathroom and no spare room, so I'm surprised it took as long as it did to get me. I was feeling fairy smug for a while!

NauseousNancy · 05/12/2021 20:38

2 adults 2 kids.

First child tested positive on the Sunday, second child was positive by Tuesday (we all did PCR tests as she was positive)

I didn’t test positive until the following Tuesday (just as first child came out of isolation), and my husband was the Saturday after that (almost 2 weeks after the first tested positive).

Hideous time. On a positive note, I have a friend who all tested positive within a few days of each other, and another family where the child was positive and none of the adults were.

Christmasiseverywere · 05/12/2021 20:39

Few days

Tatum1234 · 05/12/2021 22:40

Dc2 on the Friday, dc4 Sunday, dc3 following Friday, me following Sunday.
Dc1 had it the month before (no one caught it then) and dh has avoided it both times.

Sparkle275 · 05/12/2021 23:20

DD tested positive last Tuesday, Me and 2 DS's on Thursday and DH on Friday after an inconclusive test the day before. All in a short space of time for us and we all got infected.

BigRedDuck · 05/12/2021 23:49

Four of us here. DS tested positive, I was positive 48hrs later, DD 24 hours after me, DH positive 7 days after DS.
All on LFTS confirmed by PCRs.

Hemingwayscatz · 06/12/2021 05:04

DD tested positive last week Sunday, I tested positive yesterday. DH and 2 of our DC are still negative somehow. 2 other DC tested positive 5 days after DD so a week in total really provided DH and other 2 remain negative.

PhilCornwall1 · 06/12/2021 05:50

Youngest tested positive last Monday, OH tested positive midnight on Thursday, up to now, me and our eldest are negative.

toughtoes · 06/12/2021 21:17

DS positive lat flow Saturday/ no symptoms at this point, go for PCR ( which is positive) at this point, rest of family test negative
DS unwell Saturday night
DH feeling bad Monday, positive Lat flow & PCR Tuesday
Me feeling bad Wednesday, positive Lat flow and then go for test which is positive on Thursday, DD still negative on PCR
DD ( toddler) snotty the whole time and we kept lat flowing her and PCR with us, but didn't get a positive lat flow until the following Wednesday, so she lasted 12 days before we could pick it up. No further symptoms other than the snot. We didn't get her a final PCR as she'd had 3 but then and lots of lat flows, just did the isolation.

Buddrinker84 · 06/12/2021 22:38

4 days, for all 4 of us to be positive.

Dogatetheleftovers · 06/12/2021 23:22

All 5 of us caught it in a 6 day period.
