Are Feb half term school ski trips being cancelled now?

Have secondary schools started to cancel February half term trips?

DD isn't due to go until Easter but I can't see that happening now. She should get her second jab in January though. Trying to gauge what her chances are (yes, how long is a piece of string in a pandemic etc...)

Ours has been moved to Feb 2023, it was originally planned for Feb 2020. It's now in America rather than France.

Crikey. That's long time to wait.

DS is a teacher and had volunteered for the skiing trip but it was cancelled a month ago, before Omicron.

I'm glad I haven't bought any kit yet.

DD booked to go to Italy on the school ski trip in February, and currently they’re only letting double jabbed people in (including under 18s). I can’t see them changing that before Feb, given Omicron, so not feeling very optimistic about it going ahead. DD has had 1 dose; the earliest the second dose would be is a couple of days before the trip, but I think most foreign travel requires your second jab to be at least a week before travel? Or more?

School hasn’t yet cancelled though - they have told us that apparently the Italian government is next reviewing travel restrictions on 13 December, so we might have a bit more of an indication then.

Am also holding off buying any kit…
