How long did it last if so?

Mine is and I'm assuming it's due to having my booster at the beginning of last week, but just wondering how long it might last/ when to consider it might be something else.

I didn't, but when. I had a mammogram they wanted to know the dates of my jabs because they said swollen lymph nodes in the armpits are a possibility.

cultkid · 13/12/2021 13:49

Yes I had a cyst

Trixiefirecracker · 13/12/2021 13:50

I heard this is a good thing. Great immune reaction means your body working well!

Crackingowlsanctuary · 13/12/2021 13:51

I had this on my collarbone on the side i had the second Pfizer jab. Apparently there are lymph nodes there too. Lasted for days and was a bit sore.

DrunkenUnicorn · 13/12/2021 13:55

I had this with my first AZ, but it wasn’t lymph nodes.

An area about the size of my palm was swollen, bright red and hot (and very sore!). It took about 3 weeks to go- I was on the point of going to get it checked out, when it subsided.

However, I still have a lump (first jab in march). When I went to have my second the nurse said it was scar tissue and she’d do the second one in my other arm. That time it didn’t react.

Yes and I still have a lump
In my armpit from it. My 2nd vaccine was in September

NearlyAlwaysInsane · 13/12/2021 14:00

Had swollen armpits (both) for 8 weeks after the first dose.

Had both armpits swell up again after the 2nd dose, for nearly 4 weeks.

ClaudiaWankleman · 13/12/2021 15:58

Yes, in both armpits after both Pfizer jabs.

At the time it was in the card as an uncommon side effect which meant that less than 1% of people had this side effect. I read a study online from the USA which said there was evidence it was a common reaction amongst people who had already had COVID - up to 5% of these people would have it.

I have never knowingly had COVID, however. Anyone else?

thelittlestrhino · 13/12/2021 16:02

Yep - only after Pfizer booster (not AZ initial course). Jab Wed eve, lymph swelling/pain started Thursday afternoon, was really quite sore Friday but then has eased off completely.

Fairly sure I haven't - was part of antibody testing last year and routinely doing LFT for work so although I've definitely been exposed numerous times, I don't think I've actually been infected.

Day 5 after booster and woke up this morning and it has almost gone. Horrible side effect

kimlo · 15/12/2021 13:41

yes. Lasted a couple of days, only after the booster.

Never knowingly had covid and no antibodies from natural infectiin last time I had a antibody test.

WinterTrees · 15/12/2021 15:31

I had this too, but it only lasted a day or so. It started about 5 days after my booster, and coincided with some redness appearing around the place where the needle went in. I've not had covid, to my knowledge.

I was surprised when I had the jab that the vaccinator injected it in the band of muscle going down my arm, sort of at the front IYSWIM, rather than shoulder. I wondered if that accounted for the underarm pain and swelling.

GnomeOrMistAndIceGuy · 15/12/2021 15:34

Yup - months on and my lymph nodes are up a LOT more than they have been previously. They used to swell and be painful when I was completely run down or really unwell. Now they seem to be up every other day. Quite annoying.

ElephantandGrasshopper · 19/12/2021 11:05

I've just found this thread, I'm two days post vaccine and I've woken up with really swollen armpit, so it's reassuring to hear that others have had the same thing. I have previously had covid. I hope it goes away soon for everyone!

RuthW · 19/12/2021 11:21

Yes pfizer - only booster though. Lasted a few days.
