The hubby birthday is tomorrow im feeling really guilty as I've been taken down with covid and can't go out obviously my 7 year old also has it, so its just him and our 5 year old who is negative its not going to be a very fun birthday for him in the slightest . Ive got presents and a cake but what can anyone think of to make it a special day I did think about food being delivered but i think if our little village knew this house has covid they wouldn't deliver 🤔 his not a man who could spend hours pampering him self

He’s an adult. He can celebrate on another day when you are well, you need looking after.

Kookookachuu · 05/12/2021 05:44

You could do an online escape room, I quite enjoyed that during lockdown. Get a takeaway delivered but make sure you pay by card on the app/over the phone and do a socially distanced delivery. But yes, he’s an adult so you could always celebrate another day.

Imfedupwithallofthis · 05/12/2021 05:45

Your village sounds delightful.

FindingMeno · 05/12/2021 05:54

Think how you would feel if it was the other way round.
He'll be fine.
You concentrate on getting yourself and your 7 year old better.

Userevermore · 05/12/2021 06:33

Why don't you celebrate after Christmas when you are all well, a lot of people had to put of their celebrations if their birthday fell in lockdown.

Remmy123 · 05/12/2021 07:17

Sounds like an awfu Village - wow! Did they put a black cross on your door?

mrsbyers · 05/12/2021 07:25

Order a takeaway if you want one , sod the village just wear a mask to answer door and pay by card

Userevermore · 05/12/2021 07:26

Who is not going to deliver, most food delivery places are national like Deliveroo surely and are used to this, how would the village know

SSOYS · 05/12/2021 07:43

Just do a contactless delivery.

Film night with popcorn etc if you’re well enough?

twoastars · 05/12/2021 07:51

You could get DC to make some little vouchers for the day and for future eg one cup of tea, a sandwich of your choice, half an hour peace and quiet, a Saturday we can do anything you like etc Get some puzzles, board games on the go, tournament of an easy game like snakes and ladders/snap, kids could make a cinema with Christmas film

NeverTheHootenanny · 05/12/2021 07:58

He can still go out right? You could organise him to go and do something fun or stay at home all together and have a games night, watch a film. Or he could collect food.

Agree with PPs though, if you’re really unwell and need looking after he’ll just need to suck it up and celebrate his birthday another time

Cattipuss · 05/12/2021 08:01

Order a takeaway for dinner, he can pop out if he wants or stay in and watch films etc. I honestly wouldn't worry.

OneToThree · 05/12/2021 08:17

He’s an adult. He can sort out his own birthday celebration choices.

MarchingOnTogether · 05/12/2021 08:43

Book something that you can give him now as a gift but to do at a later date.
Such as hotel and tickets to something he would like. A football game or other sporting event maybe? Or dinner and a show? A night out clubbing? A supermarket driving experience? Helicopter flight?
Rather than do Xmas presents this year me and my OH have booked a hotel in Leeds for a night, we are going to the casino next door that evening and then football the next day.

Aposterhasnoname · 05/12/2021 08:50

Your village would refuse to deliver food to a family that couldn’t get out!
What if you had nothing in? They’d let you starve? Fuck me, what happened to community spirit.

Userevermore · 05/12/2021 08:56

Who is delivering that the village has so much say in it, it sounds like some ITV drama

Littlebelina · 05/12/2021 09:08

Order a takeaway, that's what contact deliveries are for

Littlebelina · 05/12/2021 09:09

Contactless!

cherrypie66 · 05/12/2021 13:30

Takeaway left on doorstep
