Has anyone managed to get a booster at a walk-in centre this week since the guidelines changed?

Just that really.

I am going to a walk in centre tomorrow and I really hope that they are able to give me my booster. I am 40 and 5.5 months since my second vaccine. I have a booster appointment booked for 2 weeks time which is the first date that was available on the system at exactly 6 months, but it's the morning of the day I'm supposed to be flying (assuming the flight goes ahead that is!) so I really really want it tomorrow.

However I've read that even though the JCVI have changed the guidelines to 3 months, vaccination clinics are still supposed to only give boosters from 6 months. Has anyone else managed it this week?

I went to UCL Bidborough House in London this morning with my DH; we both had bookings. They were accepting walk-ins for the booster providing the second dose had been administered on or before the 8th of June.

Btw, operating at full capacity but very well organised, didn’t have to queue or wait. Well, only the 15 minutes post-vac, but plenty of space to sit and they gave us a mini of Love Hearts!

That's really helpful to know, thank you. I am in London so may make the trek up to UCL.

I have an appointment in Soho (St Annes church, Dean St) tomorrow at a walk in centre. They still have a few slots available at 2pm. I'm guessing that works for you, @BlackLambAndGreyFalcon, if UCL is convenient? The booking page says over 40s are eligible 5 months after their 2nd vaccination so I am keeping my fingers crossed it will be fine...

Thank you @chesirecat99 - it looks good from the eventbrite invitation - unfortunately I can't get up there tomorrow. Best of luck!

I was able to get mine from a walk in centre yesterday. There was a sign outside saying your second jab had to be before the 19th of June.

I managed to get a booking appointment via the GP route for this week. Slightly later than I'd liked, but at least I'm not due to have it on the morning before a flight!

I can see the 6 month between doses still hasn’t changed to 3 months on the NHS website. So the advice at the walk-in doesn’t seem to be happening which is annoying as I’m pretty close to the walk in centre right now and could easily go.

Just to confirm, the walk in clinic at St Anne's, Dean St, in Soho is doing boosters after 5 months for the over 40s. I was half expecting to be turned away because it was a typo!
