Please help me manage my anxiety after covid

I tested positive for Covid 3 weeks ago. I was able to manage the virus at home but needed antibiotics for a chest infection following covid. A close family member recently died of covid so I’m naturally even more anxious than I was before.

I think I’ve only been out 3 times since I came out of isolation. Each time I have been double masked and taken as many precautions as possible.

This morning I seemed to be coughing again, although more an irritant in my throat rather than chesty like when I has Covid. My taste /smell also seems a bit weaker tonight. I don’t if that’s just because I’m eating a bland pizza or whether it’s something more.

I’ve taken a LFT (which is negative). I know they say not to for 90 days but I wanted to for my own piece of mind.

Is this just all part of covid recovery? I’ve been feeling fine for a week. I don’t know if it’s because I’m doing a bit more now that it’s taken it’s toll?

I’m trying not to let my anxiety get the better of me, but I’m struggling. Please tell me it couldn’t be covid again so soon Blush Sad

I think it is part of your convalescence. I was very unwell with Covid a few months ago. The anxiety I experienced afterwards was awful. I still experience it, but more intermittently, and it does get better as you heal. You have to give yourself lots of time. Don't forget that you will now have a good level of natural immunity, and in time, you'll have the booster too, so ATM, your risk of catching it again is very low. Look after yourself, and hang in there - it definitely improves. Post Covid anxiety is a killer.
