What are reliable brands of home antigen tests?

I'm not in the UK where the tests are free over the counter. I'm in the EU and I need to but them.

So far I was using the pound shop ones. I don't know if they are reliable or not.

I know two people over the past few weeks where the antigen tests were useless

  • one person with symptoms tested negative on antigen tests 3 times but because she had symptoms she went for a pcr test and she was tested positive.
  • another person who tested positive on a home test who was shocked because he was careful with his whereabouts and he has no symptoms. He went for pcr and it was negative.

I need to buy some antigen tests and use them more over the next few more weeks because my movements have increased outside of lockdown and mixing also increased.

Are you in Ireland? The dunnes stores ones seem to be good.
