Covid vaccination Certificate /QR code for 12-16 year olds

So it's great that 12-16 year olds can now have their second jab, especially as some countries such as Spain now require UK travelers over the age of 12 to be vaccinated for entry. BUT- how can my 12 year old obtain proof of his double vaccination (when he gets the second in Jan) since under 16s currently can't get access to the NHS app ?
Has anyone seen any official response on this issue as it must be a common question?

I think you are going to have to wait for Jan.
The gov may change its mind on giving 12-15 Yr olds a 2nd jab, if Omicron turns out to spread quickly and evade current vaccines.
On the other hand it may go ahead and if so there will probably be some proof of vaccination.
