Walk in 40+ but not 6 months yet

Hm was hoping to get to a walk in today but not quite at six months and will be a faff sorting childcare if no point.
Anyone seen anything helpful on when the guidance is likely to change ? The nhs press statement says you “are now” eligible in that category but the booking page still refers to six months

Interested in this. I'm 41 and 36 weeks pregnant and I'd love a booster ASAP.

Newnormal99 · 01/12/2021 06:24

Thought gap was 3 months now?

Wingingit15 · 01/12/2021 06:29

That was the announcement but the walk in blurb still says six months and that it will be updated shortly

I work at a vaccine centre and we are doing five months. Walk-ins always available. This may change next week but that's the status at the moment.

Wingingit15 · 01/12/2021 06:36

@beguilingeyes thanks
Is that local or cross the board ?

I have an appt for my booster on 14 Dec, which I made a couple of weeks (I am 50). This will be 185 days after my sexiness jab.,I went to the walk in yesterday (I was passing) to see if they could do it sooner due to the three month thing - they told me that this law hasn’t actually been passed yet, so boosters are still 6 months/182 days after the second jab.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/12/2021 06:45

Lol!! “Sexiness” should “second”’!!!! ShockHmmWinkGrin

I need a sexiness jab! Joking aside - Thanks that’s helpful.

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads
Sexiness jab, lol! Wait does that make a person more sexy or immune to sexinesss?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 01/12/2021 06:57

@itsasmallworldafterall, obviously more so! You should see me here in my supermarket PJs and messy hair! Bring on the jab!

Wingingit15 · 01/12/2021 08:06

Just rung 119 and apparently the system is changing Monday

OP posts:
SmileyClare · 01/12/2021 08:12

Useful to know the system is changing on Monday. Is the gap between jabs being shortened to 3 months?

Placemarking to check availability of sexiness jab, I think I'm eligible for that too. Grin

BogRollBOGOF · 01/12/2021 09:52

Mine reaches 6 months next week. Rolls eyes.
This week would have been quite convenient to schedule in a few days of side effects if it goes like my first jab did. Not so appealing for later in December.

SecretKeeper1 · 01/12/2021 21:04

Can’t stop laughing at sexiness jab!! I’ll join the queue Grin

NoisyBrain · 01/12/2021 21:42

Sign me up for a sexiness jab Grin

Ozanj · 01/12/2021 21:45

They say over 5 months for over 40s where I am but will provide a booster to anyone over 40 who was vaccinated at least 3 months ago. They are more prescriptive for the under 40s.

EmpressCixi · 01/12/2021 21:45

I also rang 119 and they said Monday it changes to 3 mos. I am worried though because Monday is also anyone 18+ too and so it will be a fight to get any appointment.

Did they say that? That seems ridiculous and not in line with what was said at the conference about phasing things
