If one of you got covid would you isolate from each other?

Two triple jabbed adults - DH has developed a cough so is going for a pcr tomorrow.

Undecided where to carry on as normal or lock him in a room. Resigned to having covid at some point so kind of thinking if he's got it I may as well join him, and at least hopefully get it over with by Christmas.

I didn't with my boyfriend, he managed to avoid catching it so it's not always a definite.

We tried but it didn't work as only 1 bathroom in the house.
And we did try hard!

No. We sort of tried, but it was impossible really in our house. Now the whole family has it. I honestly don't know how we could have avoided it when DH first was positive.

We would, but one of us is critically vulnerable (in the 500,000 third primary group) so we'd do a lot to try to keep them safe.

My youngest - 11 - just had Covid and we didn’t . I mean didn’t hug her for a week ( but didn’t lock her up either . Nobody else got it (me dbl jabbed or my unvaccinated other child )

I think I'd probably sleep in seperate beds if an option but otherwise make very little effort

No harm in trying to lower the viral load you're exposed to, and having him coughing over you all night doesn't seem ideal Grin

I wouldn’t, but we only have one bathroom and one bed so not much choice. If I had a larger house I’d consider it, depending on symptoms and vulnerabilities.

Dp tested positive on a lateral flow at the weekend and has been quite poorly and we're both awaiting PCR results. We haven't isolated from each other. It seemed pointless as we'd spent time together anyway so I'd probably already have it if I was going to get it. I'm staying in as much as can though to avoid passing it to others. If I had to go into an office I might make more of an effort to stay away from him.

We tried, we have an ensuite for DH to use and I moved into the spare room. But I contracted the virus anyway, 3 days later. I guess sleeping next to him in the two 'infectious' days before he developed symptoms was enough.

No I wouldn't. 3 of us have had covid, all at separate times ( never infected each other in the house some how even with zero distancing ).

We already have the plans in place.

If I or DH get sick, we isolate.
If DC gets sick, DH isolates and I take care of her.

We have had boosters, but DH is CEV.

I’m positive at the moment (on day 3) and am trying not to infect DH otherwise we will really struggle getting the kids to school. Am sleeping separately, using different bathroom, keeping distance and wearing a mask when in the same room etc. He took a PCR today so we shall find out soon!

DD (17) has it, Im not isolating from her. DH and i are both triple vaccinated. My work dont want me going in for the 10 days so we're all home all day. I use a separate room for work, but we do eat together.

We would try but not if it was one of the kids as they are too young.
We have more than one bathroom though so it would be a bit easier

We did a couple of weeks ago. Dp and twins 10 got it. I am CEV. Dp lived in lounge and slept on sofa. Twins in their bedrooms, garden or in lounge.

Very careful with airflow in contaminated rooms and I worn rubber gloves while handling their cups and plates. I didn’t get it!! Nor did dd15.

DH got symptoms first and his positive PCR. He did isolate away from the rest of us but we have a bedroom with an en suite so he was able to stay in there.

Unfortunately I caught it from him anyway. I must have been exposed to it before he showed any symptoms and tested positive 5 days after him.

We weren't sure what to do so DH stayed isolated and I carried on looking after the kids. We couldn't both isolate away from our children but we could try and limit their exposure by them only being with 1 of us.

DH finished his isolation and started to feel a bit better just as I started to feel really rough so we swapped roles. I retreated to the bedroom and he looked after the kids.

I am fairly sure both kids did get Covid anyway although very mildly so our isolation approach didn't really work apart from maybe reducing viral load.

God it was a rough time though. It was nearly a year ago now and DH just in conversation tonight said it's hard to believe quite what we went through at the time.

We'd have to. It'll be me holed up in the bedroom with the ensuite because I'm immunosuppressed. Everyone else is either under 12 or fully vaccinated.

We didn't isolate our child when they got it. Dh caught it we slept in the same bed beside our other child only 2 out of 5 of us caught it.

I was only double vaccinated at the time now triple. Our child with it was only ill for 24 hours. Dh had a temperature for about a week.

We don't have a big enough house to isolate from each other.

I stayed away from DH and threw food in his general direction from the door, but slept next to him (back to back & face under the cover 😂

He was quite poorly (in a flu sort of way) but I was fine & daily LFs all clear. Neither of us are vulnerable & both double jabbed.

We didn’t isolate and dh didn’t get it, so bizarre!
