Apologies if this has been asked a million times (probably has). DD age four is very snotty, has a cough but nothing alarming/unusual about it and definitely not coughing loads. Has a temp of 38.2 so will get her tested.
Just wondering your child’s symptoms? Was it just like a cold?

Slight fever for the one child. Only one fever spike.
Other than that, just mountains and mountains of snot

2toastornot2toast · 28/11/2021 16:01

Teacher here, most of children started with a cold and temp first.

blissfulllife · 28/11/2021 16:04

My dd just had mild cold symptoms. Snotty nose and slight temp

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 28/11/2021 16:05

Headache then loss of taste and smell. He also had a bad stomach about 4 days before

Wingingthis · 28/11/2021 16:08

Thank you everyone; very helpful! Looks quite likely she may have it from reading your responses 😫

Achy legs, super tired for a few days. Put this down to school straight after half term. Vomited approx 4 days later, PCR done - positive.

Cacee3029 · 28/11/2021 17:11

My Dd has had those symptoms last week which turned out just to be a bad cold - pcr negative! So there's no way of knowing until a pcr is done! Hope they are feeling better soon ☺️

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/11/2021 17:12

DS 8yo - a bit snotty, temperature and a couple of random nosebleeds. No cough.

Caterina99 · 28/11/2021 19:53

4 and 6 year olds. Cold symptoms for a day ish and then lingering coughs. No fevers

I wouldn’t have tested (ok I know I’m supposed to for cold symptoms, but it just didn’t really register with me due to it being so mild and no fever) but half the school has covid and lo and behold they were positive.

DramaLlllama · 28/11/2021 20:54

DD8 - started with snot and congestion. Like the start of a bad cold. A very sporadic cough then started (which prompted the PCR). By the time the PCR came through the following day (positive) she was back to normal. She lost her sense of smell about 6 days later, but no other symptoms. Very mild thank god!

HerbertChops · 28/11/2021 21:30

Ds had headache followed by blocked nose and sore / red eyes. Eyes were then watering a lot on day 3. He said he felt really tired. Day 4 completely back to normal.

MoonlightMedicine · 28/11/2021 21:34

Dd7 felt lightheaded. No fever at any stage and only a very slight sniffle.

DS11 felt fine but tested positive after catching it from DD. Day 4/5 had headaches. No fever or any other symptoms.

ComeAllYeFaithful · 28/11/2021 21:35

Sore throat for two days, snotty then a cough.

YonderTweek · 28/11/2021 21:39

Most of the kids in my DC's Reception class complained (briefly) of a headache and achy legs. Only one kid out of 10+ cases actually had a cough, although quite a few apparently had bad tummies. I think my child said once that their head hurt but that was it - no other symptoms thankfully.

I hope your DC feels better soon! Bear

MonsterKidz · 28/11/2021 21:40

DS7 complained of feeling cold the day before. That night he asked me to check his ear as it felt ‘weird’. Next day sore throat and then one fever spike, we’re on day 4 now and a lingering cold, sore throat and ear pain seem to be the main symptoms.

FWIW my other DS11 has the exact same symptoms and has tested negative twice. He is more ill than the Ds7!

ComeAllYeFaithful · 28/11/2021 21:49

Did everyone else catch it? I’m so worried of getting it myself. I have health anxiety so I know if I test positive I’m going to freak out.

SoftSheen · 28/11/2021 21:52

My DC (aged 6) basically had those symptoms and it turned out to be Covid. He recovered after only 48 hours though.

polkadotpixie · 28/11/2021 21:57

3 year old DS was very snotty, slight cough and off his food for a few days. He also burped excessively, like dozens of times a day! He was absolutely fine though, running around as usual...no fever or lethargy, just a cold really

Megan2018 · 28/11/2021 22:00

Absolutely nothing when tested positive, developed a bad cough after a couple of days but nothing else. No temp etc
She’s been far iller with other things. She is 2 and was only tested as they had a nursery outbreak.

Vickles20 · 28/11/2021 22:02

Congestion. Runny nose. Sensitive watery eyes.

Frlrlrubert · 28/11/2021 22:05

DD is just 5, she had cold symptoms basically. Raised temp (for her), but only by maybe .5 so not actually a 'temperature'.

DH had more trouble than usual getting her out of bed one morning, she seemed a bit lethargic and snotty, positive LFT, then PCR. She did develop a cough the next day but bounced back after about 24 hours otherwise.

She's out of isolation now, still has a very slight cough, none of the (vaccinated) adults in the house have caught it from her.

Double3xposure · 28/11/2021 22:35

A colleagues children of 9 and 15 had no symptoms and tested negative on a LFT.

She only sent them for a PCR test because she and her husband both had covid.

Letmesleepitoff · 28/11/2021 22:57

Red and watery eyes, fever for three nights, slight cough, burping lots (interesting someone else said that) and diarrhoea on day 3.

Annabelll · 29/11/2021 06:33

Main symptom for DC (5 and 7) had been tiredness (they’re sleeping about 13 hours a night rather than usual 10-11).

DC5 spiked a fever for a couple of hours early on. DC7 has felt generally under the weather for a couple of days.

We wouldn’t have realised I don’t think unless we did LFTs regularly. There have been cases in their school so we started doing them a few weeks ago.

AG1981 · 29/11/2021 07:26

DD7 - no real symptoms at all throughout entire isolation period. Looked slightly pale perhaps and said she had a tummy ache a few times but this also could have been worry and there was no impact on her appetite. Was tested as 15 (!) of her class were positive.

DD3 - caught it from her sister as tested neg originally and then pos after symptoms developed, sick once as she is with most bugs, mild cough for 5 days. Has had worse colds.

DH41 and me 40 both double vax AZ with second doses in June / July, didn't get it. Took 3 PCR and many lateral flow and all negative.

This was in Oct half term. We were very lucky I think.
