Arriving in UK from republic of Ireland

Do you need to take a day 2 PCR and isolate until results if arriving from the republic of Ireland? I have searched but can’t find any specific information regarding this, everything I can find says all arrivals to the UK but travel restrictions were different for ROI over summer due to the common travel area.
