I feel like I can't go on this winter!

Anyone else? Dd is on cough no4 since September so 4th pcr test today. Previous 3 tests were negative.

Not sure why she's been unlucky with coughs recently. Last winter she didn't get a single cough all winter (she even went to school in the January lockdown) so I just feel done with it now. Thankfully results have been back within 12-14 hours recently so hoping it'll be the same again. But it's ds having time off as Dp is at work (double jabbed and be started at 5am before Dd woke up with this cough). I can't get ds to school with Dd off. She's also snotty, so could be just a cold.

I am a little concerned it could be covid this time. A member of staff in her class has had covid but back now (just back) - we were never told to test the children. she also went to a birthday party the other day where there was a lot of coughing kids (wasn't a school friends party so not kids she would normally mix with).

Now she's poorly. I feel done. Like I can't go on

Bizarrely every time she catches these coughs - that only lasts a day or two for her. No one else in the house gets ill. She gets and allergies so sometimes I think allergies can trigger a cough for her too. I haven't been ill since April when I had a bad cold, Dp never gets poorly thankfully. Ds does get poorly from time to time but I find with Ds he'll take ages to shake off a virus whereas Dd will be over it in a day or two!

I've been continuously since Halloween. I want to call
The doctor but I don't really know what to say.

I had a cold about 4 weeks ago and the tail end of it just won't shift. I'm still quite snotty and got a bit of a cough that comes and goes. I think there's definitely a connection with allergy suffering as any time I get a cold it ends up affecting my chest and my asthma is primarily allergy induced. I think central heating doesn't help as the air is much drier and then going outside into the cold can set me off.

It's odd because she appears totally fine in between bouts apart from her allergies. Her allergies have been particularly bad, usually only in morning though.. but this is Non stop snotty and coughing. But no one else seems to catch it so I wonder if it's when the allergies get bad. I've blitzed her whole room, got rid of every single bit of dust I can see, regularly wash bedding etc. It's odd! Central heating definitely doesn't help. We've just cleared any dust out of them too!

I can't go anywhere without feeling ill the next week. I just hope my body fights it off well enough.

If its allergies does she take piriton? My ds had the same one year and the doctor recommended piriton daily to help clear it up.

I haven't spoken to gp but pharmacist recommended children's Benadryl which seems to help! Ty!
