If your child tested positive, how long before you did?

Assuming you were doing daily LFTs, what day of isolation did you get a positive?

Just asking as I have a positive child and curious as to when my LFT is most likely to be positive and when I can start to hope for the best..!

I didn't. Twice. (Different children, obviously).

DD was positive on the Friday. Me and DH by Monday.

11yo DD tested positive on Sunday, I tested positive today, so 3 days. I definitely caught it from her- I was self isolating as was due to have an op, so I haven’t been anywhere!

Miraculously no one else in the house caught it from DD age 9 (two fully vaccinated adults, younger sibling age 7)

I didn't either.
DS caught it last month. He was poorly for a day and a half. DH and I didn't test positive the whole time. Both double vaccinated.

No one else in the household caught it.

2 small kids had it here in the last few weeks. No isolating obviously. Neither of us got it, both unvaccinated.

Didn't. Ds10 had it (asymptomatic) - DH and I didn't catch it. Daily LFTs and 2 x PCR.

No one else in our house caught it and we didn't confine DD to her room or make her wear a mask. We carried on as normal but did have PCR tests and did LFTs every other day.

I didn’t but vaccine does stop this is many cases doesn’t it?

DS (6) tested positive on PCR last Friday (asymptomatic) he’s since been unwell, but mildly so.
Double jabbed DH tested positive on LFT yesterday. Again asymptomatic.
So far I remain negative on LFTs which has surprised us as I have had headaches, a cough & lethargy. I am also the one DS gravitates too and he’s been sharing a bed with me since Friday (not my choice!)
We are waiting for PCR results but they’re taking ages, likely due to a surge of cases in the area. Friends are on day 3 of waiting.

I had my booster 6 days before he tested positive.

We didn’t. Two DC have had it (at different times). DH and I, plus siblings, remained negative on PCR and daily LFTs.

We isolated from teen DD, but her 10yo sister was around us much more

@Confusedteacher I was due to have an OP too. The hospital are now saying I have to be 7 weeks Covid free, so now back on the list for January!

DS(5) tested positive on a LFT on Monday and I tested positive this morning. DD8 and DH remain negative.

DD has woken up feeling rubbish and tested positive on LFT.

Half the house have had it here. DS was vaccinated less than a week before he tested positive, then I tested positive. DH and DD (10 so unvaccinated) have remained negative. Our isolation ends today! Woohoo! Not sure if I have the energy to leave the house yet but knowing I can makes the difference.

Dc had symptoms on the monday, I also had a sore head so we both did pcrs on the Tuesday. Dc came back positive on the Wednesday, mine was negative. I continued to do lfts. I tested positive on lft on Thursday, did a pcr on Friday and got positive result on Saturday. I was told my day 1 was the Wednesday even though I think it was the Monday.
