Can I have the Covid booster?

Booster jab booked for tomorrow morning. Just been alerted by the app that I’ve been in contact with someone who has Covid and I need a PCR. So I’ve had one this morning. Can I still go for the booster?

Are you in scotland? I know the Scottish rules are you cannot go for the booster until you have a negative result from being a close contact as you legally have to stay home until the results come in.

Not in Scotland no.

Probably best to wait, it's not advisable to have vaccines within 4 weeks of having Covid, plus you may be exposing people (many of them elderly and vulnerable) in the vaccine centre to Covid. Just rebook it when you hopefully get your negative result!

One of the first questions they will ask you is if you’ve been in close contact with a person who has covid when you arrive and will ask you to come back another time.

I was in the same situation pinged on Monday at 9pm , booster due Weds 9am. I did a drive through PCR on Tuesday 9am but hadn’t got the result by booster time. When I arrived and and told them what had happened they just said come back later tonight after you get your result. I did snd it was all fine.

Is it? Not for any of mine.

If you have covid symptoms yourself, obviously no but contact isn’t a reason to delay.

Hopefully your pcr will be back by then

I've only had the first two but I wasn't asked about contact.

I'm surprised people are still using the app to be honest!
