Ordered a PCR but don't need it will I get in trouble

I ordered a PCR in a moment of panic as my DS had a sneezing episode and now I've thought about it I don't really warrant having to do one but I'm worried that now I've ordered one and if I don't send it back I will get in trouble?!
🤯😳

Why not just do it anyway? Only takes a few seconds...

CatbellsQueen · 21/11/2021 11:36

Just keep it for when you do need it? They don't go off. Or just do it anyway!!

CatbellsQueen · 21/11/2021 11:36

I should add, I suppose they do have an expiry date at some point. But it's not going to be within the next few months.

LifesTooShortYOLO · 21/11/2021 11:37

Ok thanks but the fact I've ordered one and don't send it right back will they check or anything?

No you wont get in trouble. They post out hundreds of these a day.

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/11/2021 11:39

They are not going to hunt you down, keep hold of it in case you need it.

Princesspickle777 · 21/11/2021 11:55

I ordered one last week for DD and it never turned up, had an email confirming it had been delivered but no idea where to 🤷‍♀️. I sure hope we don’t get in trouble for not using it. Ended up going to a walk in test centre.

Cornettoninja · 21/11/2021 11:57

Tbh I’d do it anyway but then I wouldn’t be able to shake a nag in my own mind once I’d had the thought.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t worry about it, they lose enough of these tests once they’ve gone off for processing that I don’t think anyone is monitoring who does and doesn’t return them to the point you’d be contacted.

DGFB · 21/11/2021 12:02

No, they won’t look for you. Just hang onto it

Yingandyang · 21/11/2021 12:07

It will probably have a best before date on it, I would just keep it for next time.

HumunaHey · 21/11/2021 12:26

Really?! You think you'd get in trouble? I honestly worry about how people's mental health has been affected by this pandemic.

They do eventually go off I think. After 6 months or something

If you’re worried about it just do it anyway. On yourself it needs be.

But You won’t get into trouble. I know a few people’s pcrs who’ve apparently got lost somewhere between sending and reaching the lab. They were cross but def did not get into trouble!

Banani · 21/11/2021 13:29

Just hang on to it. No one will follow it up but you can still use the registration code to use it weeks down the line if you need to.

Remmy123 · 21/11/2021 13:35

Of course you won't!!!

Crunchymum · 21/11/2021 14:27

I posted a similar thread a whole back.

DC had a one of coughing fit and I ordered a test. We didn't use it and there was zero comeback. I got an email reminder to post it (which is standard, I just got an email now and I posted the tests we did need yesterday) but no-one ever called to check or followed it up in any way.

BurntO · 21/11/2021 14:28

You may as well do it. But no they will not care. Don’t worry OP Smile

Crunchymum · 21/11/2021 14:29

Is this true. I've always wondered.

And if it is then surely people would have realised and started to stockpile? So they don't have to wait the 24h when they do need one?

Elieza · 21/11/2021 14:30

I’d just use it anyway. It does no harm. Either now or in a few weeks if you suspect you may have it.

You can’t send it back for them to give to someone else anyway. They would just destroy it I’m case it had been contaminated.

Paradii · 21/11/2021 14:51

"Get in trouble."
Seriously?
Is this really how people think now? What on earth do you think would happen?

BobbieT1999 · 21/11/2021 14:52

Can you imagine the daily fail headline if you did get in trouble over it? Grin
