Do we all need PCR or just carry on with lateral flow

Dd has covid and track and trace have advised all family members to get a PCR, is this really necessary if we are all doing daily lateral flows ? Am I missing something

So far no one else has got it but we are only on day 4

Yes it is. Far more accurate. What's stopping you?

Just logistics really, single parent and 4 children all in totally different directions, just trying to find a time to get everyone there at once plus our local test centre has been closed and replaced with one with really limited opening times

Are we required to isolate whilst waiting on results if we're not showing symptoms

If double vaccinated no isolating if no symptoms.

Get a home test kit for all of you.

Just order postal tests.

The postal tests arrive very quickly

The advice is to get a PCR once you've been told you're a contact.... but if that's one or two days after the contact, isn't that too soon really? When this happened to me I continued to take LFTs every day for ten days thereafter.

Day 4 is probably the ideal time though.
