Painful red rash with covid

Has anyone else had this? Or found a solution to the pain? I’m asking for my twenty year old son who is living away from home. The rash seems to me similar to the Covid toe chilblains rash but is in very sensitive area. He has had virtually no sleep for two nights. Last night in desperation he dialled 111 in the early hours. He has spoken to his gp but is still in excruciating pain. Unfortunately he is limited in what pain relief he can take because of asthma.
Any suggestions of creams or ideas pain relief would be welcomed. He sounds desperate…

Is it in his underwear region? If so, yellow metanium nappy rash cream might help

I think you can take cocodamol with asthma? The weaker strength ones can be bought without prescription.

shouldistop yes it is in that area. I shall pass both of your suggestions on to him. Especially the nappy rash cream! His house mate should be able to get that for him easily.
Thankyou.

Remind him not to take paracetamol with cocodamol x

My step son had the same (12) the only consolation I can offer is it was short lived and his only symptom

Yes I will do.

BumBurnerBum that’s interesting to hear that he had similar. I shall pass your hopeful news on. My son has also had the fever for two days and loss of taste and smell. Plus slight tightness of the chest but not too bad so far.

Thankyou both.
