Good morning! I was wondering if anybody could confirm that there is no second line here.

It’s my five year olds who has been in close contact with a confirmed case. I couldn’t do the sample properly either which is causing me doubt. I had to fight him for the less than a second swab he allowed.

I think this is negative... it is isn’t it!?

If you couldn't get a proper sample then it probably won't show a positive result even if he does have it? There must be a minimum amount of actual sample needed for it to work?

Wow how incredibly rude @UhOhOops! She had in fact already posted saying that before you posted anything so if you know, you just read the thread you’d have saved yourself a whole lot of ire!

In any event, there is no requirement to have a test of any kind just because you are a close contact so if someone chooses to a lateral flow then they’re already doing more than that have too. Obviously op’s ds has a cough so he does need a pcr but if he didn’t she wouldn’t be obliged to do anything at all.

@StormTreader - the fact that there is a line in the control panel means that she did get a proper sample and the test worked.
