Covid passport expiry date on NHS app?

IncessantNameChanger · 17/11/2021 10:01

I have just downloaded the NHS app and viewed my covid passport today.

My first dose was March and second one was mid May.

My pass expires mud Dec. No booster has been mentioned am I'm too young to be in a booster group anyway.

Any ideas?

I'm not 100% sure but I think when you view your Covid Pass it's only valid for 1 month or 4 weeks from when you click it. So if you clicked for another Covid pass in a months time it would expire in January?

RubertRoo · 17/11/2021 10:08

Oh yes - it says the below at the bottom of the Covid pass.
So the barcodes only last 30 days at a time.

The 2D barcode refreshes every time you log in. If you generate a PDF copy of your pass, the barcode will expire 30 days from date of issue. To get a new one, just log back in

It's just a month/4 weeks from the day you downloaded it. If you download it again tomorrow it'll be a day later. It's just when that "copy" of your "vaccine passport" is valid to, not when you'll be considered "not fully vaccinated".

Has something changed to mean you're no longer in a priority group eligible for a booster though? You must have been before if you were vaxxed that early.

AnyFucker · 17/11/2021 10:11

Each time you log in to view your pass it updates the expiry date to a month from now

IncessantNameChanger · 17/11/2021 10:23

Ah thanks, I did wonder as I'm six months post last vaccine already.

I was in a priority group as om a unpaid carer for my disabled child. But not that high on list of priorities. I'm not really in any rush for a booster tight now as I had no idea its effects would fall off so quickly.

I had covid in Jan so if I had known I would have waited six months post illness and gone from then cashing in more my natural immunity.

Anyway that's good to hear it doesnt expire next month ( not that I'm going anywhere to need it)

But always safer to rely on MM's advice Grin

Have you actually tried to book your booster? It could be that because it will be 6 months they'll want you to have it and the system will allow it. Im assuming you won't be the only one in this position and they won't want lots of people with gaps.

IncessantNameChanger · 18/11/2021 23:05

@Cookerhood ah ididnt see that. I'm dyslexic.

Not in any rush to get my booster as I'm normally invited via my gp eventually. I will wait for the invite. I have had covid so I dont think I'm really in as much danger as some.
