Would you class this as a faint positive?

Appeared within 5 minutes and is still there now a couple hours later, although very faint. This was the older style lateral flow, I did a newer flowflex style afterwards (only one left in house and wanted to double check) which showed completely negative.

Yes and no.

Hard to tell, especially in a photo.

I’d do another one in a few hours.

Negative

Survivingmy3yearold · 16/11/2021 20:59

I had a really faint positive exactly like that yesterday, had a pcr which came back as positive this morning. I'd get a pcr just to be on the safe side

jerometheturnipking · 16/11/2021 21:04

I can see the second line, sorry. Try another tomorrow?

Deux · 16/11/2021 21:13

I can see lines on both. Confused my DD had a similar faint line yesterday and waiting for PCR result.

CandleWick4 · 16/11/2021 21:16

I see lines on both too. My DDs looked like that and then she had a positive PCR. I would re take in the morning

Meecrowavay · 16/11/2021 21:35

I had faint positives which were a little clearer than this on flowflex lfts and they were false positives. Negative PCR (and follow up PCRs were too). It can go either way tbh. They say false positives are very rare but mumsnet is full of stories like mine. I still don't understand why mine were positive.

This was my thread: Faint positive? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4394033-faint-positive

beenrumbled · 16/11/2021 21:45

I can see the faint positive on both. DS2 LFT looked like that and was followed by a positive PCR

saltontoast · 16/11/2021 21:49

I can see a faint on both, I'd get a PCR to be safe. I had a darker (but still faint) one twice and it lead to a negative PCR, but I've seen some people have super faint ones and have a positive PCR

SingingSands · 16/11/2021 21:54

That's how mine and DD's tests looked initially before we tested positive by PCR. The home tests did get darker after 24 hours.
