If your secondary school child has tested positive what were their symptoms?
DD14 has a headache sore throat and no smell or taste. PCR done at 9.30 this morning so just waiting for results

High fever and headache for 24 hours. Then tiredness and loss of appetite for about a week

Peanut82 · 16/11/2021 18:07

Thanks all. DD has been vomiting too today. I'll be very surprised if she tests negative.

Itchy eyes for my dd

Peanut82 · 16/11/2021 18:20

She's been taking painkillers but it's not touched the headache

First symptom was a hideous headache for ds2, then tired and achey, followed by temps at night, slight cough, reduced sense of taste and smell and an awful stomach pain- doubling up regularly due to pain. That was back in September. Taste still isn't 100% normal and he definitely tires much easier and faster than he use to. The stomach ache hasn't totally gone either, if he gets worn out and run down then it comes back.

WhatsitWiggle · 16/11/2021 18:28

Headache and achey legs, feeling a bit nauseous. Then tiredness, blocked nose and finally loss of taste.

tigger1001 · 16/11/2021 18:32

A headache. Which wouldn't have prompted me to test as he gets migraines. But someone at work had mentioned about headaches being a symptom and we did a lf which was very faintly positive. Positive pcr. Lost his sense of smell a couple of days later which still hasn't returned 2 months later. His sense of taste was fine though.

Peanut82 · 16/11/2021 21:36

Seems like the common 3 symptoms aren't a factor for a lot of people apart from the no smell or taste. DD is still very nauseous. If she tests positive I'm really not comfortable sending my 5 year old to school, has anyone else kept other kids at home?

We kept our elder soon home until his pcr came back negative. He's in his GCSE year so angry single day counts. We've been doing daily lfts across the rest of the family too, all negative every single time, including him.

ColettesEarrings · 16/11/2021 21:57

Son. Every. It's been a long day!

I knew what you meant 😂 The rest of us are doing daily lft too, all negative so far. Hopefully we should have the results by tomorrow

Just got her results. She's negative. Quite surprised at that due to no smell or taste

DD(12) tired and headache for about 4 days, lost her appetite. No cough.

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 17/11/2021 07:25

No symptoms

ApplesAreTheBaneOfMyLife · 17/11/2021 07:26

Good news though op

sofakingcool · 17/11/2021 07:34

Tired - wasn't waking until 1/2pm

Slightly achy a couple of times - this is what prompted me testing him with an LFT

He looked quite pale

Other than that, nothing to really note. No cough, temp, loss of taste/smell etc

StormyTeacups · 17/11/2021 13:08

None really! In hindsight, a bit queasy and headache the week before.

BarefootHippieChick · 17/11/2021 13:18

No symptoms apart from loss of smell and taste, otherwise perfectly fine. Lft picked it up. Currently very ill again with flu like symptoms, negative lft but we've done another PCR because she's been in contact with a positive case, although we've been told it's highly unlikely to catch it again so soon. Our school rule is that if you don't present the 3 main symptoms you can still go in while waiting for results. Not quite sure how I feel about that tbh. Glad you got a negative result though OP

steppemum · 17/11/2021 13:20

nausea, headache. Then sore throat. Then cough, then finally on day 7 ish loss of taste and smell

steppemum · 17/11/2021 13:21

o and tiredness.
positive LFT and negative pcr.
then repeat pcr positive

SilverGlitterBaubles · 17/11/2021 13:29

Sore throat, cold, headache and temperature followed later by loss of smell and taste.
