Because I haven’t.
Just had Covid though.

OP posts:

You need to have had 182 days since your last jab (saw that written in a walk at the vaccination centre today). Also you need to wait a while since testing positive- I don’t know how long as it’s about 6 weeks since we I had it so it wasn’t an issue.

Clarkey86 · 15/11/2021 18:49

You can log onto the NHS booking system and do it yourself without being called up.

It will only let you if you’re eligible.

Scarby9 · 15/11/2021 18:51

I am 60 and have only just been able to book mine for the beginning of December. I wasn't called - just went online.
When did you have your second jab?

Theforest · 15/11/2021 18:55

152 days from second you can book for 182 days since. You must leave 28 days from positive PCR too.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 15/11/2021 18:57

Don't say we are going to have to go through all this again, just book yourself in Grin

I'll have to hide this topic if we going have every other thread about the logistics of getting your booster

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/11/2021 18:57

5 months after your second jab, you cab book your booster for 6 months after your second jab. I did it last week. No one called me. I booked my jabs myself, and had had them, weeks before my GP called me.

gamerchick · 15/11/2021 18:58

Just book it as has been said.

RedHot22 · 15/11/2021 18:58

You can just book it but must wait a month from your positive PCR if you’ve just had Covid.

Wilkolampshade · 16/11/2021 09:54

It's the same system as last time OP: go to:
www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/
and book yourself in. If you're eligible you don't have to wait.

userno53627 · 16/11/2021 12:00

It needs to be 6 months after second dose. You can just book online yourself. It won't let you book if not eligible. Don't want for an invite. Don't know what the rules are regarding jabs after having covid though.

Edjut · 16/11/2021 12:39

A lot of people may think they will be called up though, not everyone reads the papers and posts on here, DH casually just mentioned yesterday that he hadn't had a text for his booster, it's due early December and I said you have to book it and he said but last time the surgery texted me with appointments. I have to book online anyway as the surgery never texted me last time but I think a lot of people will think the same as DH and don't really think about it, DH rarely watches the news

SirChenjins · 16/11/2021 12:41

I’m the same age - I booked myself on via NHS Inform (depending on where you are in the UK)

Seeline · 16/11/2021 12:42

I was called up by my GP surgery - I had first 2 there.
But I have also had two NHS texts, and a letter. DH has had a letter. all arrived after we had had the booster at the GPs!

So some call-up is going on.

ArblemarchTFruitbat · 16/11/2021 12:44

Husband is 60 and was never 'called' for booster - booked it ourselves online.

emmathedilemma · 16/11/2021 13:06

Bookings are open for over 50's in Scotland, they're not sending appointments out, you just have to go online and book one. I've no idea how you're meant to find this out, I only know because I saw it on my GP's facebook page!

PrincessNutNuts · 16/11/2021 13:54

It's six months for my aunt and uncle next week, and they haven't heard anything, so I've been trying to book for them.

They are eligible to book on the system, but there are no appointments shown before December, and I haven't yet found one either nearby on a week day that they can go to on their lunch break, or on a weekend at a reasonable distance.

There's literally nothing in their town or the surrounding ones.

I have booked them in for a mid-December slot 20 miles away at 6 months and 3 weeks, but will keep looking to see if I can bring it nearer both geographically and date - wise.

Edjut · 16/11/2021 18:14

DH got a text from his GP to book his so some surgeries must be doing them

Edjut · 16/11/2021 18:17

DH does go to his GP regularly though so had his through the GP whereas I haven't seen the GP for many years so don't get a GP invite

LIZS · 16/11/2021 18:19

The texts seem to appear at the six month anniversary of last one, but you can book online using the link above if you think the date will be earlier and prefer not to wait or go to a drop in.

LittleBoPeepHasLostHerShit · 16/11/2021 18:30

I came on here to get advice regarding a similar situation... DH and I are both eligible due to health conditions. I've had my booster but he comes up in the system as not eligible to book and we cannot understand why! I was told by a GP receptionist today that he can attend a walk-in clinic, but surely they're using the same system and will just tell him he's not eligible? The NHS advice online says you can "bring the letter from your GP, or any other letter regarding your condition". Does that mean he can just walk in if he brings a letter about his condition? We have plenty of those...

StCharlotte · 16/11/2021 18:35

I had an invitation text from the GP to book via the local hub six months and a couple of days after my second jab. I was Group 6 (I think).

cherin · 16/11/2021 18:46

I’m under 50 and today I’ve had a text from the London trust where I’ve had my second dose, and they had dates available from this Saturday which is actually a week or so before the 6months mark. Booked within 30” from receiving the text!

guineapigs · 16/11/2021 19:05

I booked mine already and I would need to take a bus to get to the hub. But then I received a text from gp to book one and I could book nearby. I cancelled the other one.

HeronLanyon · 16/11/2021 19:11

I finally went online today over 5 months from my second. Have been kind of waiting for text and then thought the texts would be at 5 month mark (to make appointment for 6 month).
Of course trouble now is appointments few and far between taking me weeks past my 6 month. With under 50s able to do similar (likely from Monday) this problem will increase.
I may well have missed something or not understand something but that in itself is a problem - just seems a bit messy.

bigbluebus · 16/11/2021 19:14

Our GP surgery isn't doing the boosters. I'm 57 and haven't been invited. My 182 days are up next Monday. I just went online and booked for my nearest available centre.
