What are the chances that it's covid

I had to go into the city yesterday. Its 12 miles away. I don't drive. I used the bus.

A few seats I heard some coughing, all the way in. I think it came from a group of young lads at the back of the bus.

I am concerned that maybe it could be covid. The coughing definitely sounded 'cold' like. There's a cross over between colds and covid.

Ironically I was going into town to attend a booster appointment.

If that coughing was covid, do you think my booster will help me? My arm is aching bad today and I have some slight body aches and I think that's a side effect of the vaccine. Small price to pay in the hope it helps me against a covid infection.

No-one can tell you if it was Covid. Your booster is unlikely to help yet, but your other 2 vaccines should still be protecting you.
Hopefully you will remain well.

There's high covid cases in my country. There's lots more other colds and viruses going around too. I'm afraid of covid.

I am hoping it's not covid. Should I get some antigen tests for the week ahead and test incase that was an exposure on the bus?

I think you should chill out. I live with my dd who had Covid and neither me or my DH, both double jabbed, caught it. We didn't isolate her. If the boy on the bus had Covid the chances of you catching it sat a few rows in front for a single journey are incredibly small.

No you should not buy antigen tests. It probably wasnt COVID and if it was you probably haven't caught it, you'll just stoke your worries if you start testing. If you get sick then get a COVID test. Until then try and look on the bright side - you are vaccinated and have had a booster shot.

You have health anxiety by the sounds of it.

I had covid last November and dh and ds2 didn't catch.
They'd been in close proximity before I knew I had it.
Try and relax.
