Covid recovery certificate for travel

We had Covid last month so we were able to get a Covid recovery certificate instead of a fit-to-fly PCR . That worked fine and we are now abroad but I can’t find anything that says that we are exempt from the Day 2 LFT test when we return to the UK. Do we still have to do it?

Did you find out OP? That's an interesting one as the passenger locator form requires a booking reference yet if you had covid you should be exempt from testing due to false positives!

@Maidofdishonour where did you get your covid recovery certificate from and how did you check the country travelling to would accept it? I can’t find anything useful on google. Many private companies offer them but I’m worried they are not official enough to be able to not do entry pcrs that most of Europe now want. I would really appreciate your insight please I’m going around in circles! Thank you.

The Covid recovery certificate comes up automatically on the NHS App once your 11 day isolation has finished (although it can take a couple of days to appear). Click on the ‘get your NHS Covid pass’ and then on ‘travel’ and you should see it. It’s definitely worth downloading the pdf - we printed ours out which made it much easier during check in.
The country’s requirements can be found on the gov.UK website

It all sounds complicated but it was far easier than I thought it would be and it was lovely to not have to worry about catching Covid on the plane!

We still had to book a Day 2 LFT for when we returned as we needed the code for the passenger locator form. Our tests were negative but I don’t know that a PCR would have been.
