Do you need to?
DS had 1st jab in UK, 2nd in US. Documentary proof of each. What more is needed?

I'd like to know too!

I managed, either some difficulty, to get my GP practice to update my record, but they were adamant that they could not add this to the NHS records, so I was unable to get an NHS digital Covid pass.

In the end I had a second set of vaccinations - there seemed to be no other way. I hope they've managed to sort this out in the meantime as I'm due for my booster.

I hope that last sentence was written in jest!

You've had 4 doses and want a booster?!

I think you contact go surgery. There is apparently an office that deals with putting the details in the system. A relative received 2 jabs abroad and now has been booked for a booster on nhs. I’m not sure if it will appear on the covid pass, but it sounds like she is ‘in the system’ now

His CDC card should be enough for the GP to update his records.

As I explained above, it's not enough to get the GP to update their records to get an NHS pass. It's a huge shambles - see this article from today's Guardian for details:

Some of the comments below the line make an interesting read about how people who were vaccinated in different countries - including different countries within the UK!!! - have struggled. The government promised to get this sorted by 1 August, but here we are and nothing seems to gave changed.

Soon one will need to have had a booster 6+ months after the second vaccination in order to be considered fully vaccinated, which will probably make the whole certification process even more complicated.

You can't. We at least until the government say you can. It can go on the gp record but will not appear on the nhs covid passport.

(Part of my job)

Forgot to say, it will make no difference in having a booster. That can go ahead but you may need to talk to a person instead of booking online.

My mother was vaccinated overseas and pinged as a contact of a confirmed case when she was visiting us recently. She was told to self isolate because her EU covid vaccination certificate means nothing here in the UK. It's ridiculous and senseless but that's how it is.

In an email from NHS Track and Trace, Mr Watts was told: “The government’s rules are that the vaccine must be administered in the UK, by a recognised NHS member of staff who has been trained and authorised to administer that vaccine. The reasoning behind this is that elsewhere the same vaccine may be stored or administered to different standards or protocols.”
