Did you report your positive LFT online? Do I have to?

DD tested positive on lateral flow this morning, PCR test done and waiting results.

Do I have to report the LFT online? Are there implications if I don't? What's the point of it anyway if the PCR test comes back positive?

Also when do T&T take isolation dates from? Dd has had symptoms for 4 days prior to today's test & we're keen to keep her time out of school and isolation to a minimum so I'm hoping it doesn't start from when a positive PCR result received.

You are supposed to report LFT results online, but the select committee report on T&T found that only 14% were. No idea how they came to that proportion though. Nothing happens if you don’t.
Sorry can’t answer the second part, more knowledgeable folks will be here soon!

I’ve never reported a single LFT. I don’t really see the point. If I have a positive one, I’ll get a PCR to confirm. My negative tests are not really anyone’s business, I don’t work in a job where they are required etc. I use them before going to indoor things such as the theatre, a restaurant, a friends house etc.

I forget to log my LFT results all the time. Didn't bother with the positive one - there were lots of other things going on that morning.

When we booked them we put the date symptoms started and it was counted from then

Also, your daughters 10 days start from the first day of symptoms. Not the day of the test.

I started with symptoms on a Wednesday but thought it was a cold. By Friday, I felt quite rough. Tested Saturday. Results Sunday. My 10 days counted from the Wednesday so I was already 5 days into it by my results! I did isolate from Friday.

It's a notifiable disease, so you really should log +ve tests online. Very few people are logging negatives online.

SilverSandStorm · 08/11/2021 19:53

Thanks all, must admit I was diligent at logging negatives online when the dc first went back to school but it's just become such a faff now with having to report for work too- we do them but rarely log.

I think I'll leave it for now then, fairly sure the PCR will be positive, sound like this will be all that's needed for "official" reasons.

When you log a positive lateral it just directs you to book a PCR to confirm, as you've done that anyway I wouldn't bother to log the lateral now. T & T will work out with you the isolation period
