How soon were you reinfected?

I had covid at the beginning of September (asymptomatically), double jabbed since June. Just wondering what's the soonest people have been reinfected and whether it's possible I'll swerve it over winter!

Also 99.99% certain I had it last March too, before testing - all the classic symptoms.

Two infections, two vaccines and a booster due in a few weeks - surely the odds are good Smile

Following as I was going to post this question the other day but didn't have time.

I'm also double jabbed (2nd vax also June) quite mild covid 11th July and due a booster on Wednesday.

I saw that Khloe Kardashian had covid last October and seemed quite poorly and has tested positive along with her toddler this October but it'll be interesting to see how soon others have been re-infected (confirmed).

Would also be interested to know if anyone has had it more than than twice!

I'm not sure if I've had it twice - possibly did Match 2020, then definitely did in June 2021 (after having one jab).

DH has had the fucker three times: March 2020 (obviously no jab), I think January or February 2021 (after one jab), and then June 2021 (after both jabs). He's a walking case study!

Make of that what you will. 🤷

Wow! @SpringheelJack, were the second and third times pcr confirmed?

How has he been during and after each bout?

Bobholll · 08/11/2021 19:20

A mum at my DD’s school has had it 3 times this year. Once in March pre-vax. Once in August post Pfizer. And she has it now, she’s in hospital 3rd time round with pneumonia 😱 She’s been chatting on the WhatsApp chat on & off and apparently her docs have said it’s very rare but not unheard of. Some people are just more susceptible than others for various reasons.

I’ve had it twice, 10 months between each case. Second time was far worse post vaccines. 🥴 but I think that’s Delta for you, it’s a bit grim. But nothing concerning. I just felt miserable for a fair few days!

Bobholll · 08/11/2021 19:27

Interestingly, my husband has been around me 24/7 both times I’ve had covid (we’ve never isolated, we have young kids), including sharing a bed, working together in our home office, watching TV all evening etc and he didn’t catch it either time. He had a couple PCR tests each time & never showed symptoms!

What’s curious is whenever we catch the kids illnesses, we always catch different ones. If I’ve got a stinking cold from one of them, he won’t get it. And if he’s got stinking cold, I won’t get it. We both catch a roughly similar amount of colds each winter but always at different times!

We seem to have opposite immune systems. We wonder if it’s our blood group or something! 🤷🏼‍♀️

My NDN has had it twice, the second time was a month and a half after the first. It’s rare but it does happen.

Coughee · 08/11/2021 19:32

I'm on my second dose of covid. Got it first mid July. Double jabbed. Its been worse second time round too.

SpringheelJack · 08/11/2021 20:11

Wow! @SpringheelJack*, were the second and third times pcr confirmed?

How has he been during and after each bout?*

All three were confirmed by PCR (the first one was his second lot of time off work with symptoms, so they wanted to be certain before letting him have his 14 days - it's a medical setting. So that's how he got his PCR that time!) First go it was mild cold but bad fatigue the following week, second go absolutely symptomless, third go mild cold although different symptoms to first. Last one was Delta era, and symptoms were more snotty/classic cold than the first time. It's never been bad!

I am approaching a year since having Covid. I'm double vaxxed, and last week was sitting next to someone who then tested positive a couple of days later! So far so good. All LFTs negative, and one PCR (advised to get this due to being a close contact) negative. Really hoping it stays that way!
