Positive or negative? What do you think?

(I have booked a PCR)

Positive

Meecrowavay · 06/11/2021 11:11

I'll go for another PCR tomorrow I think. Just to be on safe side.

Same happened to my son @Meecrowavay, numerous positive LFT's, several negative PCR's, no symptoms at all. Don't know what to think tbh.

I raised it with my local Public Health team who stuck to the party line saying PCR trumps LFT and to carry on as normal Confused

It's all very odd and worrying.

Dauphinois · 06/11/2021 11:15

@Meecrowavay What brand of LFT did you use out of interest? Our positives were always with the newer Flowflex type, whereas the older style NHS ones always came back negative.

Meecrowavay · 06/11/2021 11:17

Very odd. We have tested other members in the house and they are clear negatives so it's not like it's a dodgy batch either.

I guess I can see why they don't want to put a public statement out saying there's issues with tests - as it'll potentially lead to wider distrust of the testing process; but there is something most definitely afoot (based on all the threads I've since found on mumsnet about this exact scenario we're all describing 🕵🏻)

Yup, flowflex

Mine were the nasal-only ones too.

We were the same, 6 of us in the house, 5 negative on Flowflex but one repeatedly positive. I genuinely don't think he has / had COVID. The first positive LFT was nearly 3 weeks ago now so surely if he was positive and the PCR was wrong, someone else would have caught it from him by now even if he was asymptomatic? No outbreak in his class at school, among his friends or within our family.

I too have read other examples of this happening and I really think there is something wrong with Flowflex.

@Meecrowavay

Negative PCR 🤷🏼‍♀️
I had exactly the same earlier last week. Very faint line, but PCR was negative. Subsequent LFTs were negative too... No symptoms.
PokemonGoGoGo · 06/11/2021 18:14

I would repeat the PCR too. Do you have any symptoms?

No, none of the main ones.

Strange Op let us know how your second PCR goes

Meecrowavay · 08/11/2021 21:42

Still negative on PCR!

I have had faint positives on LFTs constantly since February. Always a negative pcr though 🤷🏼‍♀️
