How to book 2and vaccine for eligible 12 year old

We received a letter from the NHS saying DS, 12, is eligible for 2 doses of the vaccine. He has had his first but I need to book for the 2nd in 8 weeks. The letter said to contact the gp GP surgery to book the second but they've refused to help stating that they aren't doing them. I've tried 119 but they can book it as they can only book first doses for that age group. So far I have spent about 2 hours on the phone trying to sort this out but he seems to have fallen into a black hole!

Has any body had any success or have words of wisdom how to go about it. 119 suggested speaking to his hospital consultant (but he isn't under one) or ringing round all the walk-in vaccination centres to see if they will do it but I won't be able to do that until nearer the time and really need to know in/book in advance.

Surely it's not that difficult! Any help grateful received.

Will the online booking site allow you to book an appointment as you've been notified that he is elegible?

Unfortunately not. His first dose was booked online.

Can you take him to a walk in vaccination centre? I did this successfully yesterday for my 13 year old DD's second dose.

This is very area dependent - in our area they can't attend the walk ins and we have to wait to be contacted once they have decided when they are going to run the second clinic for eligible children in this age group.
