If you had an adverse reaction to COVID jabs/booster

... how long after having the injections did you experience adverse reaction?

Need to build in contingency to some plans. No adverse reactions to first 2 doses but appreciate booster will be a different 'flavour'.

Thanks

By 10pm the day I had the job. Was ill for 48 hours.

Amundo · 01/11/2021 19:18

Jab

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 19:21

Thanks @Amundo - so how many hours after the jab was that?

OP posts:
StiggyZardust · 01/11/2021 19:26

Achey underarm, enlarged lymph nodes, for about 4 days. No other problems. Felt awful after my 2nd dose of Pfizer.

Amundo · 01/11/2021 19:30

I think I had the jab around 11am and had a temperature and banging headache by 10pm. That was AstraZeneca.

SnarkyBag · 01/11/2021 19:54

Within 6 hours of the first jab I felt like I’d been hit by a train. Lasted about 48 hours.

Franklin12 · 01/11/2021 19:57

I had a few side effects with first and second. What are the potential side effects for the third which is very likely to be Pfizer..

My first two were AZ.

Bobbobbobbing · 01/11/2021 20:01

12 hours for both my first and second AZ vaccine. Shakes, fever, joint pain and generally knackered.

Suzi888 · 01/11/2021 20:03

DM has Pfizer, she is 79 and has bouts of vertigo. Very bad ear infections after each jab. Booster side effects were not so bad, only lasted about a week.

FrenchyQ · 01/11/2021 20:06

Within 9 hours of my first jab I had a raging temperature and couldn't get out of bed. That lasted 4 days.

Iliketeaagain · 01/11/2021 20:13

I've had my booster a couple of days ago. Had AZ for first 2, Pfizer for 3rd.

Was warned I might gave worse side effects because I had covid 8 or so weeks ago, but so far main issue has been a sore arm. Compared to my first AZ vaccine, whee I felt like I'd been hit by a bus for 3 days, there has been minimal to no side effects with this Pfizer booster.

Vargas · 01/11/2021 20:17

Had Pfizer booster after different first two doses and I had bad Covid arm (hot, red, swollen, sore) for 5 days plus fatigue and muscle aches. Unpleasant but I still went to work and did usual activities, apart from working out!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 20:28

Thank you everyone. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my OP but could you please include when (how long after) you felt the effects - that's key here rather than what the effects were. Thanks

Was your booster Pfizer? My parents have had theirs and had no reactions at all... and Mum had an awful reaction to the second Pfizer jab.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 21:59

@whitehorsesdonotlie not had it yet. Had AZ first two, so am guessing booster will be Pfizer or Moderna.

Hmm, this is an interesting one. Within five minutes of having my two AZ doses, I had the most awful taste in my mouth (I don't know anyone else who has experienced this). I felt unwell after my first dose for about four days, but the second one didn't affect me apart from the nasty taste.

Fifipop185 · 01/11/2021 22:06

DH had his booster (pfizer) last Thursday, within 12 hours he had a heavy headache which hasnt shifted and has culminated in to a migraine today. He has a history of migraines but hasn't had an attack for many years. It could be a coincidence.

Deux · 01/11/2021 22:14

First Pfizer, fine.

Second Pfizer, after 24 hours felt ill for 24 hours including having to go to bed. Arm was really sore. Sore arm continued for 4 months until August. Had to see an osteopath. I had a shoulder related vaccine injury but this was due to the administration of it - too high.

3rd Pfizer, all fine, no symptoms at all.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 22:36

Thank you all.

@Deux I'm confused now as I'd understood booster was to be a different variety - clearly not if all yours were Pfizer.

pourmeanotherglass · 01/11/2021 22:38

About 24 hours similar to first jab. I was fine after 2nd. Booster was worse than 1st, but that may be because i combined with the flu jab.

Blueberryflavour · 01/11/2021 22:55

1st Pfizer no reaction at all
2nd Pfizer nothing for first 48 hrs then very bad dizziness and nausea for next 48 then fine again
Booster Pfizer no reaction at all
Had my flu jab at same time as Booster my flu arm felt a bit sore for first 24 hrs then fine
Only folks who had the Astra Zeneca are getting the other one (Pfizer) for the booster if you had Pfizer before you get that again for the booster.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 22:57

Ah ok thank you, I'd obviously misunderstood.

I had that like a mattalic taste almost
Miamoo134 · 13/12/2021 22:09

I've got a horrible metal taste and loss of most of my taste after the vaccine - so frustrating

gsaoej · 13/12/2021 22:13

1: AZ
2: AZ
3: Moderna

In each case symptoms started about 11-12 hours after the jab. Temperature, fatigue, aching, generally feeling like shit. Fortunately all symptoms vanished about 20 hours after they started.

The worst one was the first AZ.
