When can DD have the vaccine after having Covid?

Is it 28 days after the positive PCR or 28 days after the 10 days has ended?

She missed the round in school as it was within her 10 days so she was off and I’ve had no further information as to a second round.

GP suggests to book it online.

online offering is a vaccination centre 35 miles away (!!!)

I’ve been trying to find this info as well. I was assuming it’s from when they test positive - all I can find on the website is If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, they need to wait 4 weeks before they can have a COVID-19 vaccine.

28 days after testing positive for Covid. Try a walk in centre.

Thanks.

Nearest walk in which accepts over 12s is 27 miles away so not much better.

I’ll ask the GP if they are aware of any other routes. This is silly!

Call your local child immunisation clinic and ask for where they can get vaccinated. My daughter missed her vaccination at school due to having had covid so we got a link to rebook the jab.

DS(13) should've had it in school today but tested positive 3 weeks ago 🙄

We had a letter from our local NHS trust saying we can now book appointments online for 12-17 years olds so we should arrange for him to have it done that way.

So is that 28 days since they LAST tested positive or since the confirmation PCR?

I tested ds on the weds before he was due to end isolation (he tested negative 2 days later, isolation ended the next day)

JanglyBeads · 01/11/2021 22:40

Since the confirmatory PCR, you’re not supposed to test a further time after that really.

The wait time until vaccination should be made clearer for parents though.

Just an LFT, cos as per another thread I wanted to double check

He then did 2 LFTs on the Friday, no temperature and was due out midnight that night
