If close contact but asymptomatic do you have to isolate whilst waiting for PCR results?

I am a little confused. My DD went to a party last night and this morning one of her friends has tested positive for covid on an LFT (she tested because her cousin who she was with on Wednesday tested positive yesterday). Therefore my DD is a close contact. We have done an LFT and it is negative. Her friend has gone for a PCR this morning and if it comes back positive then my DD has to have a PCR. My question is if she has a PCR as an asymptomatic close contact does she have to isolate whilst waiting for results?? Can't find anywhere on the internet that says one way or another.

Are you in England? She won't have to isolate while waiting if you are. Scotland and Wales have different rules.

Assuming she’s under 18.

England - No
Scotland - Yes until neg result
Wales - No but need PCR asap and on day 8

is she under 18y 6mo, or fully jabbed? She doesn't need to isolate if so.

If over 18 and not fully jabbed then she should isolate.

If over 18 and not fully jabbed then she should isolate.

Would just add that the PCR is not a 'must' but just advised.

Also the over 18 and not double vaccinated, then the 'should' is a 'must'.
