Possible vague symptoms but no positive?

DS(17) tested positive 9 days ago and finishes his isolation period tomorrow. He felt mildly unwell for the first day but otherwise fine. He isolated in his room but shares a family bathroom.
The rest of us have consistently tested negative on LFTs (daily) and PCRs. Yesterday I got a third PCR as I was feeling slightly ‘off’. Mild headache, nausea and light headedness. It’s come back today as negative and LFT also negative.
I’m wondering whether this could be the start of it, and just not yet showing up on tests?? Did anyone else start off feeling like this? I’m wondering if I’m just being paranoid.

I think if you’ve done 3 PCR tests and they’ve all come back negative, that you have managed to avoid catching it. I wouldn’t do another PCR unless you have more covid symptoms, but continue with LFT.

Thanks @Mindymomo. I’m concerned about going into work and potentially spreading it about. But I guess even if I’ve got it I probably wouldn’t be infectious if the LFTs are clear?? It’s all such a brain-fuck I don’t know what you think about anything anymore Sad

That meant to say “I don’t know what to think about anything anymore” (not you!)

I felt unwell when two of my family were positive. I also had three PCR tests over the whole time as I was sure I was coming down with it, but all negative. In my case I think it was an immune response to being exposed, so perhaps that is also what is happening with you. I isolated along with family as I didn’t want to risk infecting anyone.

Thanks @SirVixofVixHall that’s an interesting idea. I definitely feel as though ‘something’ is going on, but another clear test this morning. I have been feeling unusually hungry so perhaps my immune system is working overtime to fight the bugger off??

This is what I've had both times when my boys have had it (Christmas ds 10 and 2 weeks ago Ds 12) I did 2 pcrs I felt unwell both negative and negative lft daily I definitely think there is something in being exposed to it and feeling off, particularly if double vaccinated, like your body flaring but not actually infectious or showing on tests x

You could be in the early stages and not showing on the PCR test yet or it could be something else, impossible to say.
