Did anyone use a humidifier for covid and did it help?

My poor mum has just got a positive and I've used one for my little boy's cough which has helped but I wondered if anyone found it helped for a Covid cough?

How worrying for you , really hope your mum feels better very soon . I’m on day 11 still not breathing normally and have used a face steamer a few times with the thought that it may clear anything out of my airways. Not sure if making much difference but relaxing to use. I recall when my son had croup as a baby cold air helped but am unsure re Covid , anyone else got advice or personal experience?
