Feel so poorly, what day was your worst?

Still waiting for PCR results but pretty sure it will be positive as a colleague tested positive last week. Im double jabbed.

Feel so unwell, fever 39 even with paracetamol. Cannot get warm and keep getting the shakes. Coughing but not too bad also been sick a couple of times. Trying to drink but it's making me nauseous.

Think I'm day 3. Which was your worst day?

I'm 3 weeks in and day 1 to 5 were worse then felt better. Last week or so started having waves of covid headache, nausea and exhaustion I had at the start. Seems to correlate with when I've been doing too much.

lilyfire · 29/10/2021 16:19

I’m on day 10 and much better but still tired and sinuses don’t feel right. Days 2 and 3 were the worst. Felt significantly better by day 5.

Metabigot · 29/10/2021 19:49

I'm on day 11 and only just beginning to feel better - the first four days were not bad at all, felt just like a cold, then day 5 it hit me and I was in bed with a high fever for several days. I'd say day 6 was worst.. I was pretty much unable to leave my bed except to go to the toilet - I was also sick most days until yesterday.

I was beginning to think I'd never get better but day 10 I had windows of feeling ok and then today day 11 I've not been bad at all... first day not in bed all day and managed to work from home. I'm out of isolation tomorrow and taking it easy but I'd say I'm 80% better and the worst symptoms have gone. Hang on... there is hope!

Probably days 3 and 4.

DampSquidGames · 29/10/2021 22:14

Day 6, I was really sick instead of just feeling sick. Oh and night 3 or 4, terrible sweats.

SpeckleDust · 29/10/2021 22:21

Days 3 & 4 worst for me - shivering, unable to get warm then awful sweats on repeat. Started to feel gradually better every day after that. On day 13/14 and have felt back to normal for a couple of days now.

My advice would be to rest as much as possible, try and sip fluids and listen to what your body wants (sleep/food/rest).

Pickles89 · 29/10/2021 22:44

You poor thing! Just try to sip tiny amounts, even if just a teaspoon's worth, of water regularly rather than swallowing a proper mouthful and feeling sick for it. Really hope you feel better soon.

Willyoujustbequiet · 29/10/2021 23:25

I'm a day or two ahead of you. Still very poorly and in bed but definite improvement to what I was in the first couple of days. Hang in there!

Zigzag77 · 30/10/2021 07:22

I am on day 5 today and have felt so, so unwell.. I cannot imagine it could possibly get worse than this so here’s hoping I am going to start getting better soon :(

CallMeNutribullet · 30/10/2021 10:31

Days 3 and 4 were horrendous for me, terrible aches and sweats, i'm on day 6 and still have such bad fatigue that doing as much as going up and down stairs is enough that I need to lie down again.

Bit of a nightmare as i'm a lone parent with a dog and a full time job. The house is a mess and I really need to get back to work.

Other people are allowed in your house to provide care, so if you have a family member or friend who's already had covid recently (therefore won't get it off you) and you really need help could they step in?

Thanks guys

Still feeling truly awful, just getting out of bed to use the loo or throw up Sad

Saw ice lollies recommended on another thread and they have definitely helped. Cannot eat anything else.

Fever still around 39 and now coughing more with a really tight chest.

Lots of you seemed to think day 3/4 are the worst so really hoping I might feel a bit better tomorrow.

So sorry to everyone else that's poorly hope you all feel better soon as this is horrible

Days 7-10 were worse for me.

Metabigot · 30/10/2021 20:12

If I can be a beacon of hope, I am now on day 12 and whilst I'm still a bit tired and trying not to do too much the main symptoms are GONE! No more headache, sickness, diarrhea, temperature... all the things that made me feel truly dreadful. Taste and smell are still gone and I have a lingering cough but I can do stuff again (albeit for short periods) and every day seems a little better. In a week's time you'll be where I am (hopefully).
