Has your 16 year old had a second vaccine dose?

DS turned 16 in August, and had his first vaccine in September. According to the NHS website, healthy 16 year olds will only be offered one dose.
However, several of his friends, also 16, have been given a second dose. No underlying conditions.
So now I'm really confused.
If you have a 16 or 17 year old, have they had one or two doses?

My DS is 16 and in The States studying and has had 1st dose...US give 16 yr olds 2 doses 3 weeks apart

One dose here, asd but no second offered

Just the one dose here too.

My 16 has had first dose Pfizer, I have only been told that a second dose must be given so we are waiting the full 6 weeks in between doses. We are in Australia. I’d be happy to cancel 2nd dose but she then will not get her vax passport here. Interested to know if 2nd dose is a must do for teens?

17 year old has just received his text to book his second.

There’s been quite a few posts on this and those 16/17 year olds being sent requests to get a second seem to have maybe something quite minor in their records that is flagging them up for needing a second dose.

I do wonder whether there is a shortage of vaccine in the uk.

My 17 year old has had both doses but that’s because she was 17 years snd 9 months when she had her first dose.

I’ve spoken to the parents of the kids who’ve had 2. Definitely no health issues at all.

Mine had two but because they live in a household with extremely vulnerable family member

Yes because I am immunosuppressed. 16 year olds are currently only having one vaccine.
