Has anyone had their booster early?

There’s talk on the local Facebook page that people have been getting their booster around 3 /4 weeks earlier than their 182 days at the local centre.

Had anyone had their booster early like this? Is this nationwide that they’re letting you do this? What checks do they make?

The system flags it up as less than 180 days if you try it. It will depend on if the centre allows it. We had someone who was going to India for a family bereavement & so they did it. Usually it shouldn't be done though.

I am only a few days away from the new deadline of 6 months and 1 week after your second jab where you should then be able to book your booster online - and the system still won't let me do it.

Ask these people how they managed to get this early booking. I suspect they're telling porkies.

We went as walk ins at our local centre, they advertise on Facebook when they’ll be holding walk in clinics and state that you can only attend if you had your vaccine on or before a certain date. Last weekend it was on or before April 25th.

They request that you take your vaccine card with you and they checked the date on them before we entered the clinic.

I overheard a woman on a train telling her friend to say she was going on holiday so she could get her booster early.

Made me really really cross when my CEV mother (who should have been prioritised for the 3rd dose) had to wait until 2 weeks after her 6 months was up to get her booster.

There was 162 days between my 2nd vaccine and my booster.

My GP invited me to make an appointment at a booster vaccine clinic and I picked the last clinic which was available to book.

My Mum and I were offered our appointments at 25 weeks by GP at local main hub. My Mum went for her appointment, but I delayed a week and made appointment through Health and Social (I qualify) on NHS booking site on the 26 week mark, as I knew appointments were going at a much better location for me.

I had a text at exactly 6 months telling me I could book. I think I've had an email too. Now getting daily texts as I haven't had it (was out of the country!)

Interesting to hear difference experiences in this.

Just to add to my earlier post, I spoke to our surgery last week and was told that they’re not getting involved with boosters, with the first two doses bookings were made through them for the local GP vaccination hub in town.

I was advised to keep an eye on social media to see when the hub was holding walk in clinics, or to book online. All well and good but people like my 86 year old mother (who uses the same GP surgery) doesn’t have internet access and if I hadn’t told her she’d have been expecting a call from the surgery to book her in, which was what happened earlier in the year.

Both me and my son were/are CEV and neither of us have had texts or emails advising us to book which I would’ve expected to happen.
