Vaccine passports and boosters

Dh is off to an event next weekend for which he needs a vaccine passport. Not a problem, as he has one, except it expires next month... he is mid forties so not inline for a Covid booster.

What will this mean for all the people who are under fifty? Are we going to be outlawed for vaccine passport-related events from quite soon onwards?

Can he take proof of a negative LFT instead?

The expiry date is nothing to do with your vaccine status.

In the NHS App, your COVID-19 status includes a 2D barcode. The expiry date does not apply to your vaccination status. Any expiry date refers only to the barcode and will update automatically each time you go into the NHS App.

It doesn't expire next month. It extends every time you log in.

found with a very quick google www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-pass

Cookerhood · 26/10/2021 18:59

It even says it in the app (does on Android anyway)

AnyFucker · 26/10/2021 19:00

When he logs in again the expiry date will move forward. Boosters are not included (yet)

Thanks all 🤦‍♀️ I can't believe it's this obvious.

As said above, it refreshes every time you log in. Also, worth pointing out that boosters aren't being recorded on vaccine passports, you don't even get the serial number any more which is a little worrying - I questioned this and was told it all gets logged on the system.
