Can you tell me when you think day zero is?

Had sore throat and booked PCR test that day (tested because my DS had a positive result come back that same day)- but mine came back PCR negative. 6 days later and sore throat is still there- this morning I did a lateral flow test which was positive (have been isolating anyway since have been looking after 2 year old DS who has it).

Does anyone know if day 0 will be from when I first started with the sore throat? (Even though the PCR on the same day came back negative?), or is it likely to just be counted from the day of the second PCR?

(That is assuming that PCR comes back positive- had this done today after the positive LFT so awaiting that result).

I presume Test and Trace will tell me but thought I’d see what Mumsnet thought, am hoping it’s from the first and I don’t have a whole extra 6 days to add to my isolation!!

Thanks for any advice.

I don’t think sore throat counts as a symptom so I’d assume it would be from the positive LFT/PCR today. I don’t see how they will count it from the day you had a negative PCR.

If the PCR is positive I would expect day zero to be today, the day of your positive LFT.

I don't think they'd count it from the onset of a sore throat, particularly when you had a negative PCR at that time.
