Pink smudge and line but not under the T

Has anyone had a positive lft that is further up than the T line. My lo has been feeling abit off so I took a test the first one shown a very very faint line but didn't show until after 30 minutes and was white not pink so classed that as negative and the second one had pink all over the background so I couldn't quite see but as it dried abit I noticed a line but it wasn't under the T line it was before it. I can't see anything online about it. I'm waiting on more tests before doing pcr because she really struggles with the throat part and we won't be going anywhere anyway. What do you think? I've slightly changed contrast so you can see more on the picture. Thanks

Negative, nurse here and lots of experience with COVID
Discard any result after 30 mins. My fam all tested positive few months back and there is no mistaking the positive line if it appears. Hope your LO is better soon

iknowimcoming · 23/10/2021 23:27

I'd say that's negative

You can do nose only for a PCR. If they have symptoms, book one.

Winterrain7 · 23/10/2021 23:34

Thankyou for your replies I did think negative but just wanted to check to see what others thought.
@iggly I didn't know you couldn't do nose only pcr. Thats good to know it's less stress on dd.
I think it's a bad cold but when I saw that i wasn't sure what to think as I've never seen one like that before.

Agree. Positive lines are very obvious.

The new flow flex lateral flows are nose only. You can order online.

Roadtripconcept · 24/10/2021 11:25

I think a,lot of the pink stains and lines that are being posted on here are from putting too many drops into the cartridge. The Flow flex tests seem to have this problem more than the old nose and throat tests .

Tatum1234 · 24/10/2021 11:28

Positive lines are not always obvious, this is my sons. However I do think that test is negative.

@roadtripconcept I put 4 drops in I think thats what it said in the instructions but I threw them away so can't check. My ds has to do the tests for school and his are the old style ones and never had a pink smudge on them.

I think it where the faint line is placed that made me think negative more so because all the positive tests I've seen online are under the T. I checked the test this morning to see of the pink would dissapear and can't see the line so much now dp I've thrown it away and will test again when the new ones come tomorrow

I think you're right that it says 4 drops . It just seems that the Flow Flex cartridges flood more easily than the old style tests . They just seen to be more soggy than the nose/ throat tests 😂.

Winterrain7 · 24/10/2021 12:51

I agree. When I ordered them it didn't give an option they just sent the nose swabs. At least I now know they can leave pink splodges and not panic it's a line Grin
