Can a strong positive on LFT ever be a false positive?

Anyone had an LFT look like this but tested negative on PCR? Are false positives ever this dark? Lines came up within 5-10mins. Am not hopeful but my dc are! It’s half term next week, and Halloween next weekend, they think there’s a chance it’s a false positive…they wouldn’t mind missing school, don’t want to miss holidays!

My teenager also positive yesterday for half term. Pain in the arse as I am work full time and have for stupidly busy time at work so they were meant to be at my parents. Youngest is going to be left to her own devices all day every day as well.

My DH had a positive and negative LFT and they told us at testing centre the positives LFTs are usually correct so if he tested negative on a PCR to re-test again.
As it turned out he was positive on the PCR and luckily had a very mild dose, just like a heavy cold.

I had a very faint positive on an lft this morning. Did a second ten mins later and it was negative?! So now I’m confused. Went and got a pcr this morning so it’s now a waiting game for half term cancellations for me too!!

PCR has come back positive, not surprised really with those LFTs being so dark. Good news is last day of isolation 30th so hopefully dc can do something for Halloween 🎃
