Covid and periods/menopause?

There have already been several threads on the vaccines and periods, but not sure if there have been any on catching Covid and its impact on periods.

I'm 48. Menstrual cycle as regular as clockwork. No signs of perimenopause to date, mother didn't go through her menopause until mid 50s (not sure if that's relevant).

Since contracting Covid nearly 5 weeks ago, I'm struggling with recovery - fatigue, brain fog, headaches, breathless at times, not able to sleep at night.

My period also hasn't come since I had Covid.
I know it might sound simple enough to attribute to peri, given my age, but considering I never had any issues before, I'm wondering if Covid is playing a part, and would like to hear if anybody else has experienced similar?

I'm worrying it's flung me straight into menopause...

I’ve used contraception to stop my periods since my youngest was born. I started getting periods again every 28days since my second jab. So not covid itself but hmm yeah.

Thanks - that's really concerning too. I hope you can return to 'normal' soon.

I think I had Covid in spring 2020

Similar age and background to you, OP. Period went AWOL for a couple of months, but then came back and all been normal since.

Thanks Coo. Glad it came back - here's hoping mine returns.

Not missing having a period, just a bit freaked out by the possible circumstances.
