What is the info re vaccinating secondary students over half term?

I believe we can go vaccinate our secondary children next week.

Does anyone know what the procedure is for this? Do we have to make a booking and when will bookings be open if so? If it is next week surely the bookings should be open by now?

I’m assuming it’ll be the same as for other age groups. Google covid vaccine centres, enter a post code and it will tell you the ages that can go?

The biggest problem will be capacity. They’ve closed 1/3 of vaccine centres but want boosters and 12-15s done as well 😐

You can book here in theory, but it says they are aiming to have all 12-15 year olds on the system by the end of Friday. I’m not able to book for mine yet, would be interested to know if anyone else can!

I had a letter from school saying anyone who missed it can go to two catch up clinics but they will only be for children who have been invited by school and couldn't have it then for whatever reason

I tried that earlier Eccle and it won't let me book yet.

My 13yo was due to get his at school yesterday but they postponed due to school nurses being unavailable because of Covid

@AddictedToLuv keep trying and hopefully it will work at some point in the next couple of days. I will try and remember to post if I manage to book!

I clicked thru that for my daughter and at the endnit says under 16s have to wait to be contacted by the nhs.

I just tried and it was available to book for my 15 year old. Sadly no vaccine centres within 50 miles of us at the moment though so we will wait a bit longer!
